See which customers are growing, slipping or gone
For sales leaders who want Dynamics GP customer sales compared between two periods, with reasons for lapses, by asking their AI assistant.

The problem
Lapsed customers never stand out on their own
Seeing which customers are buying more or less than last year means exporting two periods of Dynamics GP sales and lining them up in a spreadsheet. Lapsed customers rarely stand out, and the reason sits in another screen.
Without PopdockAI
- Export two periods of invoices and returns
- Net out tax and freight per customer in a spreadsheet
- Line up the periods and sort by change
- Check holds and status for lapsed customers one by one
With PopdockAI
- Invoices and returns are read for both periods
- Net sales per customer exclude tax and freight
- Each customer is classed new, lapsed, growing or shrinking
- The biggest lapses show hold, status and salesperson
The prompt
Use this prompt
Copy it into any AI tool connected to PopdockAI. Swap the values in braces for your own.
**Objective:** Compare net sales by customer for `{from-date}` (default the first day of this quarter) to `{to-date}` (default today) against `{compare-to}` (prior = the equal-length period just before; last-year = the same dates a year earlier; default last-year).
Pass `{company}` as `company` on every call (if it is empty, omit `company` and the default company is used). Pass a generous `max-records` (1000). If a result comes back with exactly that many rows, say the result may be truncated.
**Step 1: Both periods**
Call `dynamics-gp-get-rm-sales-trx` twice, once for each period with `document-date.from` and `document-date.to`. Net sales per `customer-id` = invoices minus returns (by `sop-type`), using `subtotal` so tax and freight do not distort it. Ignore quotes and orders.
**Step 2: Classify**
* New: sales now, none in the comparison period.
* Lapsed: sales in the comparison period, none now.
* Growing or shrinking: change in amount and percent.
**Step 3: Lapsed context**
For the ten largest lapsed customers, call `dynamics-gp-get-rm-customer` by `customer-id` for `hold`, `inactive`, `salesperson-id` and contact, since a hold or inactive flag often explains a lapse.
**Step 4: Report**
Headline totals for both periods and the change. Then: top 10 growing, top 10 shrinking, new customers, lapsed customers with context, and the share of total sales from the top 10 customers in each period.
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* This prompt is read-only. Do not call any tool whose name does not contain `get` (no add, update, note or email tools).
**Validation:**
* If `{compare-to}` is neither prior nor last-year, use last-year and say so.
* If either period has no sales, say so and report the other alone.Who it's for
