The problem

Hundreds of open issues hide the urgent ones

A GitHub repository with hundreds of open issues hides the ones that need attention now: busy threads with no owner, blocked work and issues waiting on a reporter. Working through them by hand rarely gets past the first page.

Without PopdockAI

  • Scroll through open issues page by page
  • Look for ones with no owner
  • Read threads to see what is blocked
  • Stop after the first page

With PopdockAI

  • Open issues are scored on owner, milestone, labels, discussion and age
  • The latest comments on the top ten are read
  • Each is judged blocked, waiting, needs an owner or in progress
  • A recommended order of work is given, and nothing is changed

Prompt
**Objective:** Triage the open issues in the `{repository}` repository updated in the last `{lookback-days}` days (default 30), optionally only those carrying a label containing `{label}`, and recommend what to pick up first.

**Step 1: Pull the open issues**

Call `github-get-issue` with company set to `{repository}`, status `open`, updated-date.from set to today minus the lookback, labels.contains set to `{label}` when it is given, and max-records 200. If exactly 200 come back, say the list was truncated.

**Step 2: Score each issue**

For every issue note:

* whether it has no assignee
* whether it has no milestone-title
* whether it has no labels
* its comments count (high discussion with no assignee is a strong signal)
* its age from created-date, and days since updated-date

For the top 10 by that signal, call `github-get-issue-comment` with the issue-number and read the latest comments to judge whether the issue is blocked, waiting on the reporter, or actively being worked.

**Step 3: Report**

* A table of the top 10: issue-number, title, assignee, milestone, labels, age in days, comments, and a one-line state (blocked, waiting on reporter, needs owner, in progress).
* Counts: open issues reviewed, unassigned, without a milestone, without labels.
* A short recommended order of work with the reason for each pick.

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* This prompt is read-only. Do NOT call `github-add-issue`, `github-update-issue`, `github-add-issue-assignee`, `github-add-issue-label`, `github-add-issue-comment`, `github-update-issue-comment`, `github-lock-issue` or `github-unlock-issue`.
* Base the state on the comment text you read, not on guesswork. If the comments do not make it clear, say so.

**Validation:**

* If no issues are returned, say the repository has no open issues matching the filters and stop.
* If `{repository}` is not recognised and nothing returns, ask the user to confirm the repository name.
