Add Business Central vendors to Ramp without re-keying
For finance teams who want new vendors in Ramp straight from Business Central, just by asking their AI assistant.

The problem
Vendors set up in Business Central never quite make it into Ramp
Every new Business Central vendor has to be retyped into Ramp, and someone has to work out which ones are missing first. Vendors get skipped, misspelled or entered twice, and the gap shows up only when a bill cannot be paid.
Without PopdockAI
- Compare the two vendor lists by eye
- Retype names, emails and countries into Ramp
- Create a second record for a vendor spelled differently
- Find the missing vendor when a payment is held up
With PopdockAI
- Active Business Central vendors are checked against Ramp
- Close name matches go on a review list, not into Ramp
- You pick which missing vendors to create
- Each vendor is added with its vendor number and read back

**Objective:** Find active Business Central vendors matching `{vendor-name}` (default: all, up to 50) that are missing from Ramp, show the list, and create only the vendors the user confirms in Ramp.
**Step 1: Read Business Central vendors**
Call `business-central-get-vendor` (Business Central server) with `blocked` empty or false, `name.contains` set to `{vendor-name}` when given, and `max-records` 50. Keep `vendor-number`, `name`, `email`, `country-code`, `state`.
**Step 2: Check Ramp**
For each vendor call `ramp-get-vendor` (Ramp server) with `name.contains` set to the vendor's name. Treat a vendor as existing if a Ramp vendor has the same normalised name (lower case, suffixes such as Inc, LLC, Ltd and punctuation removed). Possible matches that are not exact go on a separate list and are never created.
**Step 3: Present and confirm**
Show a table of missing vendors with `vendor-number`, `name`, `email`, `country-code`. List separately vendors that cannot be created because `email` or `country-code` is empty (Ramp requires both). Ask the user which vendors to create and wait for an explicit answer. Create nothing before that answer.
**Step 4: Create**
For each confirmed vendor call `ramp-vendor-add` (Ramp server) with `name`, `country` set to the Business Central `country-code`, `business_vendor_contacts_email` set to `email`, `state` when present, and `external_vendor_id` set to the Business Central `vendor-number`. Call one vendor at a time. After each, report the result; if one fails, say why and continue with the rest only if the user has said to.
**Step 5: Verify**
Call `ramp-get-vendor` again for each created vendor and report its new `id`.
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* `business-central-get-vendor` is on the Business Central server. `ramp-get-vendor` and `ramp-vendor-add` are on the Ramp server.
* The only write allowed is `ramp-vendor-add`, only after confirmation. Do not call `ramp-vendor-update`, `ramp-vendor-delete`, `business-central-create-vendor` or `business-central-update-vendor`.
**Validation:**
* If Business Central returns no vendors, say so and stop.
* If the user does not confirm, make no changes and say so.
* Never invent an email or country for a vendor that lacks one.Who it's for
One answer, three teams that use it
Accounts payable
Pay new vendors without waiting on setup
New Business Central vendors reach Ramp with matching ids, so a bill is not held up because the vendor was never keyed in.
Which active Business Central vendors are not in Ramp yet? List them so I can choose which to add.
Finance operations
Keep vendor ids matched across both systems
Each vendor is created with its Business Central vendor number as the external id, which makes later reconciliation simple.
Add Fabrikam Supplies from Business Central to Ramp, using its vendor number as the external id.
Controllers
Stop duplicate vendors before they start
Close name matches are set aside for review instead of created, so Ramp does not end up with two records for one supplier.
Check Business Central vendors with Northwind in the name against Ramp and flag any that look like near duplicates.
How it works
What PopdockAI does when you ask
You name a vendor or leave it open, and your AI assistant compares Business Central with Ramp. Only the vendors you choose are created, and missing emails or countries are listed rather than invented.
01
Ask
You name a vendor, or leave it open to check up to 50 active vendors.
02
Match
It compares each Business Central vendor with Ramp and sets close name matches aside for review.
03
Confirm
You see the missing vendors and pick which to create.
04
Create
It adds each one to Ramp, one at a time, and reads it back.
