Get a ready audit sample of risky manual journals
For finance and audit teams who want Dynamics GP manual journal entries screened for warning signs, by asking their AI assistant.

Connector
Connect Microsoft Dynamics GP, pick your AI tool and paste the prompt.
The problem
Risky manual journals hide among system postings
Manual journal entries are where errors and manipulation hide, but in Dynamics GP they sit among thousands of system postings. Picking out the entries an auditor would question takes hours of filtering and cross checking.
Without PopdockAI
- Export general ledger lines and filter out system postings
- Sort by size, round amounts and posting date
- Check descriptions, references and account activity by hand
- Spend hours building a sample for the auditor
With PopdockAI
- Only the series where manual journals post are read
- Entries are screened for size, round amounts, timing and repeats
- Entries caught by three or more screens go to the top
- Flags are framed as questions and nothing is posted
The prompt
Use this prompt
Copy it into any AI tool connected to PopdockAI. Swap the values in braces for your own.
**Objective:** Screen manual general journal entries dated `{from-date}` to `{to-date}` (default last month) and list the ones an auditor would ask about, using `{min-amount}` (default 10000) as the size threshold.
Pass `{company}` as `company` on every call (if it is empty, omit `company` and the default company is used). Pass a generous `max-records` (1000). If a result comes back with exactly that many rows, say the result may be truncated.
**Step 1: Journal lines**
Call `dynamics-gp-get-gl-account-transaction` with `transaction-date.from` and `transaction-date.to`. Keep lines whose `series` is the financial (general ledger) series, which is where manual journals post; subledger series (sales, purchasing, inventory, payroll, project) are system generated. Group lines by `journal-entry`.
**Step 2: Screens**
* Entries with any line at or above the threshold.
* Round amounts (multiples of 1000) at or above a tenth of the threshold.
* Entries dated on a weekend, or in the last two days of the period.
* Entries with an empty `description` and `reference`.
* Entries posting to an account that has no other activity in the period.
* The same amount posted to the same account more than once.
**Step 3: Account context**
For accounts hit by flagged entries, call `dynamics-gp-get-gl-account` by `account-number` for `account-description`, `account-type` and `posting-type`.
**Step 4: Report**
Count and total of manual entries, then one table per screen (journal entry, date, account, description, debit, credit, reference, source document, batch), then entries caught by three or more screens at the top as the priority list.
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* This prompt is read-only. Do not call any tool whose name does not contain `get` (no add, update, note or email tools).
* Do not call `dynamics-gp-gl-account-transaction-add` or `dynamics-gp-gl-account-transaction-add-line`.
* Flags are questions to ask. Say so at the top.
**Validation:**
* If no manual entries fall in the period, say so and stop.Who it's for
One answer, three teams that use it
Internal auditors
Start with a ready sample
Entries caught by several screens are ranked first, so your testing starts with the journals most likely to raise questions.
Screen Dynamics GP manual journals for last quarter over 25,000 and rank them by warning signs.
Finance controllers
Review period-end entries before sign-off
Weekend and last two day postings stand out, so you can question late entries before the period is closed.
Show me manual journal entries posted on weekends or in the last two days of September in Dynamics GP.
External audit liaisons
Answer the auditor's questions in advance
Round amounts, missing descriptions and duplicate postings are found before fieldwork, so the explanations are ready.
Find Dynamics GP manual journals this year with no description or posted twice to the same account.
