Make sure every major Bloomerang gift gets thanked in time
For major gift officers who want to know who gave above a threshold and what stewardship each donor needs, from their AI assistant.

The problem
A major donor goes unthanked because nobody connected the dots
Large gifts need quick stewardship, but working out who gave above your threshold, whether they are new or upgrading and whether anyone thanked them means cross-checking four parts of Bloomerang. A major donor can go unthanked for weeks.
Without PopdockAI
- Filter transactions above the threshold
- Compare each donor with their earlier giving
- Check acknowledgement, interactions and tasks
- Notice the unthanked gift weeks later
With PopdockAI
- Qualifying gifts are grouped by donor, refunds dropped
- Each donor is classed new, upgraded or consistent
- Acknowledgement, contact and open tasks are checked
- A ranked action list puts unacknowledged gifts first, nothing changed

**Objective:** Review gifts of `{minimum-amount}` or more received in the last `{lookback-days}` days (default 90), identify who gave them, and say what stewardship each one needs.
**Step 1: Pull the gifts**
Call `bloomerang-get-transaction` with `amount.min` set to `{minimum-amount}` and `date.from` set to the start of the window. Drop anything marked refunded, and note separately how many you dropped.
**Step 2: Identify the donors**
For each distinct account-id in the results, call `bloomerang-get-constituent` filtered by id. Capture full name, type, status, engagement score and primary email.
Group the gifts by donor, so a donor who gave three times in the window appears once with a combined total.
**Step 3: Establish whether this is new behaviour**
For each donor, call `bloomerang-get-transaction` again with their account-id and `date.to` set to the start of the window, to see what they gave before it. Classify each donor as:
* new: no prior giving found
* upgraded: the gift in this window exceeds their previous largest
* consistent: in line with what they have given before
**Step 4: Check the gift has been acknowledged**
Call `bloomerang-get-designation` with `created-date.from` set to the start of the window, and match on transaction id where you can. Report any acknowledgement status that is not complete, and name the fund and appeal each gift was applied to.
**Step 5: Check what has already been done**
For each donor, call `bloomerang-get-interaction` and `bloomerang-get-task` with their account-id, limited to the window, to see whether anyone has already thanked them or has a task open to do so.
**Step 6: Report**
A table ranked by total in window: donor name, total, gift count, largest single gift, date of most recent, classification, fund, acknowledgement status, whether they have been contacted since the gift.
Then a prioritised action list, most urgent first. Urgency is: unacknowledged and large, then new donors, then upgrades, then consistent donors. One line each saying what should happen and who it concerns.
**Rules and Guidelines:**
* Read only. Do not call `bloomerang-add-task`, `bloomerang-add-interaction`, `bloomerang-update-transaction`, or any other tool whose name starts with bloomerang-add- or bloomerang-update-, even when a gift clearly needs a thank you logged.
* Only claim a gift is unacknowledged when a designation record actually says so. Absence of a designation record is not evidence.
* Household giving is not rolled up here. If two donors share a surname and address, note the possible household rather than combining their totals.
**Validation:**
* If `{minimum-amount}` returns more than fifty gifts, the threshold is too low for a review of this kind. Report the count and ask for a higher figure before going on to the per donor calls.
* If nothing meets the threshold, say so and report the largest gift received in the window instead.Who it's for
One answer, three teams that use it
Major gift officers
Thank big donors promptly
Large unacknowledged gifts come first, so stewardship starts with the most urgent.
Review Bloomerang gifts of 10,000 or more in the last 60 days and show who has not been thanked.
Development directors
Spot new and upgraded donors
Classing donors as new or upgraded shows where relationships are growing.
Which donors gave 2,500 or more in Bloomerang this quarter for the first time or upgraded?
Donor relations staff
Know who has been contacted
Recent interactions and open tasks show whether someone is already on it.
For Bloomerang gifts over 5,000 since July, who has had no contact or task since?
