The problem

Can we supply it? The answer is spread across five screens

Availability in Business Central depends on inventory, open sales orders, incoming purchase orders, variants and vendor lead times. Piecing it together while a customer waits is slow and often wrong.

Without PopdockAI

  • Check on hand stock on the item card
  • Add up committed quantities on open orders
  • Look for incoming purchase orders and their dates
  • Give the customer a guess

With PopdockAI

  • On hand, committed and on order quantities are read together
  • A dated timeline shows the running available quantity
  • The first date stock goes short is called out
  • Variants, vendors and lead times are listed, and nothing is changed

Prompt
**Objective:** Tell the user how much of `{item}` is available now and over the coming weeks, and where more can come from.

Pass `{company}` as the company argument on every call. If `{company}` is empty, leave the company argument out so the connector's default company is used.

**Step 1: Find the item**

Call `business-central-get-item` with item-number set to `{item}`. If nothing comes back, call it again with description.contains set to `{item}`. If several match, list them (number, description, inventory) and stop.

**Step 2: Supply and demand**

From the item record read inventory, quantity-on-sales-order, quantity-on-purchase-order, reorder-point, blocked and base-unit-of-measure. Available now = inventory minus quantity-on-sales-order.

* Call `business-central-get-sales-transaction-line` with number set to the item number and document-type Order for committed lines and their shipment-date.
* Call `business-central-get-purchase-transaction-line` with number set to the item number and document-type Order for incoming lines and their expected-receipt-date.

**Step 3: Variants and sources**

Call `business-central-get-item-variant` with item-number. Call `business-central-get-vendor-item` with item-number for vendors that supply it and their lead-time-calculation. If there is no vendor, call `business-central-get-non-stock-item` with description.contains to find a catalogue alternative.

**Step 4: Report**

* Item, description, unit, blocked
* On hand, committed, available now, on order, reorder point
* A dated timeline merging order shipments (out) and expected receipts (in), with running available quantity; flag the first date it goes negative
* Variants
* Sources: vendor, vendor item number, lead time

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* This prompt is read-only. Do not call any tool named business-central-create-* or business-central-update-*.
* Availability is company-wide, not per location.

**Validation:**

* If the item is blocked, say so first.
