See where your purchase money goes and how concentrated it is
For finance teams who want net purchase spend by vendor and by what was bought, by asking their AI assistant.

Connector
Connect Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, pick your AI tool and paste the prompt.
The problem
Purchase spend is hard to see without a manual export
Understanding purchase spend means netting posted invoices against credit memos and grouping by vendor and by what was bought. In Business Central that is a manual export, and concentration with a few vendors is hard to see.
Without PopdockAI
- Export posted purchase invoices and credit memos
- Net them in a spreadsheet
- Pivot by vendor, item and account
- Work out vendor concentration by hand
With PopdockAI
- Posted invoices and credit memos are netted by vendor
- Lines are grouped by type, item and G/L account
- Top vendors, their share and one time suppliers are listed
- Each currency gets its own table, and nothing is changed
The prompt
Use this prompt
Copy it into any AI tool connected to PopdockAI. Swap the values in braces for your own.
**Objective:** Report net purchase spend between `{start-date}` and `{end-date}` (default the current month to date), by vendor and by what was bought.
Pass `{company}` as the company argument on every call. If `{company}` is empty, leave the company argument out so the connector's default company is used.
**Step 1: Posted invoices and credits**
Call `business-central-get-posted-purchase-invoice` and `business-central-get-posted-purchase-credit-memo` with posting-date.from `{start-date}` and posting-date.to `{end-date}`. Raise max-records to 1000.
**Step 2: By vendor**
Net spend = invoice amount minus credit memo amount (excluding tax), grouped by buy-from-vendor-number.
**Step 3: By what was bought**
Call `business-central-get-posted-purchase-invoice-line` with the same dates. Group amount by type (item, G/L account, resource, fixed asset, charge) and then by number and description. Call `business-central-get-posted-purchase-credit-memo-line` and subtract.
**Step 4: Concentration**
Work out the share of spend with the top five vendors, and list vendors with only one invoice in the period.
**Step 5: Report**
* Headline: net spend, invoice count, credit total
* Top 15 vendors: vendor, invoices, net spend, share
* Spend by line type, then top 10 items and top 10 G/L accounts
* Concentration: top-five share and one-off vendors
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* This prompt is read-only. Do not call any tool named business-central-create-* or business-central-update-*.
* Keep one table per currency if several appear.
**Validation:**
* If there are no invoices in the period, say so and stop.Who it's for
