The problem
Escalations bump the priority and leave no trail
Escalating a case should raise the priority, record why and make sure someone follows up today. Under pressure, people bump the priority and forget the note or the follow up, so the escalation leaves no trail.
Without PopdockAI
- Raise the priority on the case
- Forget to write down the reason
- Skip the follow up task
- Lose track of why it was escalated
With PopdockAI
- Resolved and canceled cases are refused
- Latest activity, entitlement and other open cases are gathered
- A note with the reason and a task due today are prepared
- After you confirm, changes are written and the priority read back
The prompt
Use this prompt
Copy it into any AI tool connected to PopdockAI. Swap the values in braces for your own.
**Objective:** Escalate case `{case-number}` (id `{case-id}`) because `{reason}`: raise its priority, record why, and put a follow-up on the owner's list.
**Step 1: Read the case**
Call `dynamics-365-sales-get-incidents` with `case-number` = `{case-number}`. If nothing matches, stop. Note the title, customer, owner, priority, status, created on and resolve by. If the case is resolved or cancelled, stop: this prompt does not reopen cases.
**Step 2: Context**
* Call `dynamics-365-sales-get-activitypointers` with `regarding` = the case title for the latest activity on it.
* Call `dynamics-365-sales-get-entitlements` with `customer` = the case's customer to note the entitlement and SLA.
* Call `dynamics-365-sales-get-incidents` with `customer` = the customer and open status to see how many other cases they have open.
**Step 3: Confirm**
Show: the current and new priority (the highest value in the tool's schema, unless the case already has it), the note text (the reason, the case age, days since last activity, other open cases for the customer), and the follow-up task (subject "Escalated: " plus the case title, due today). Ask for one confirmation.
**Step 4: Write**
1. If the priority changes: `dynamics-365-sales-update-case` with `id` = `{case-id}` and `priority`.
2. `dynamics-365-sales-create-note` with `regarding-id` = `{case-id}`, `title` = "Escalated", and the note text.
3. `dynamics-365-sales-create-task` with `regarding-id` = `{case-id}`, the subject, `due-date` = today, and `priority` = high.
**Step 5: Verify and report**
Call `dynamics-365-sales-get-incidents` with `case-number` again and confirm the priority. Report what was changed and created, with ids.
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* No read tool returns a record's GUID. A GUID for an existing record must come from the user: it is the `id=` value in the browser address bar when the record is open in Dynamics 365. Never invent, reuse or guess one.
* Status, stage, priority, rating and type filters take the values listed in each tool's input schema. Pick from that list; never guess a label.
* The only write tools this prompt may call are `dynamics-365-sales-update-case`, `dynamics-365-sales-create-note` and `dynamics-365-sales-create-task`, each at most once, after the confirmation.
* The task goes on the case; it cannot be assigned to another user with these tools. Say so if the user asks.
**Validation:**
* If `{case-id}` is not a GUID, stop and explain where to find it.
* If `{reason}` is blank, ask for it: an escalation must record why.Who it's for

How it works
What PopdockAI does when you ask
You give the case number, its record ID and the reason, and your AI assistant prepares the full escalation. Nothing is written until you confirm, and it never invents a record ID.
