The problem

Raw worklog rows hide where the time went

Seeing where time went in Jira usually means exporting worklogs and pivoting them by person, issue and day. Large entries, empty days and time against unknown issues are easy to miss in raw rows.

Without PopdockAI

  • Export worklogs for the period
  • Pivot them by person, issue and day
  • Look up issue names by hand
  • Miss the odd large entry or empty day

With PopdockAI

  • Worklogs in your range are totalled in hours
  • Time is broken down by author, issue and day
  • Issues are named where possible, never guessed
  • Unusual entries are flagged, and no worklog is changed

Prompt
**Objective:** Summarise the time logged in Jira between `{from-date}` and `{to-date}`, optionally limited to `{author}`. Dates are YYYY-MM-DD.

**Step 1: Pull the worklogs**

Call `jira-get-issue-worklog` with started.from set to {from-date}, started.to set to {to-date} and max-records set to 300. If {author} is supplied, also pass author.contains set to {author}.

**Step 2: Resolve the issues**

Worklog rows carry issue-id, not the issue key. To name the issues, call `jira-get-issue-watcher` with project-key set to {project-key} if it was supplied, and build a map from issue-id to issue-key and summary. Only watched issues appear there, so some worklogs will stay unresolved. Report those by issue-id and say why.

**Step 3: Report**

1. **Total** - total time-spent-in-seconds converted to hours, and the number of worklog entries
2. **By author** - author-name, hours, entry count, sorted by hours descending
3. **By issue** - issue-key where resolved and issue-id where not, hours, the authors involved
4. **By day** - started-date and hours, so gaps are visible
5. **Notes** - one or two sentences: anything unusual, such as a single very large entry, a day with nothing logged, or a large share of unresolved issue ids

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* Read only. Do NOT call `jira-add-issue-worklog`. This prompt reports on time, it does not record it.
* Convert seconds to hours to one decimal place. Do not mix the raw time-spent text with the computed totals.
* Never guess an issue key from an issue id.

**Validation:**

* If {from-date} is missing or not a date, ask for it and stop.
* If no worklogs come back, report that nothing was logged in the window and stop, this often means time tracking is not in use.
