The problem

Incidents assigned to the wrong person, or no one

Matching a team's members to ServiceNow accounts one by one is slow, and wrong when emails or names differ between systems. Incident and change assignment then lands on the wrong person or no one.

Without PopdockAI

  • List team members in Azure DevOps
  • Search ServiceNow users for each one
  • Pick one when several look right
  • Assign incidents to the wrong account

With PopdockAI

  • Team members and their emails are listed
  • Each is matched to a ServiceNow user by email, then name
  • Multiple matches are listed, not collapsed into one
  • Inactive and unmatched users are flagged

Prompt
**Objective:** List the members of Azure DevOps team `{team-name}` in project `{project}` and find each person's ServiceNow user record, so assignments can be made on both sides.

**Step 1: Get the team (azure-devops server)**

Call `azure-devops-get-team-member` with `team-name` = {team-name} and `project-name` = {project}. If no members come back, say so and stop. For each member note `display-name`. Then call `azure-devops-get-user` with `display-name` for each member to get `mail-address` and `principal-name`.

**Step 2: Find the ServiceNow user (servicenow server)**

For each member call `servicenow-get-user` with `email` = the member's `mail-address`. If that returns nothing, retry with `name` = the display name and mark the match as name-only.

**Step 3: Report**

A table with one row per member: display name, Azure DevOps mail address, ServiceNow `user-id`, `sys-id`, `active`, `department`, and match type (email or name-only or none). List members with no ServiceNow user or an inactive one separately.

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* `azure-devops-get-team-member` and `azure-devops-get-user` are on the azure-devops server. `servicenow-get-user` is on the servicenow server.
* Read-only. Do NOT call `servicenow-add-user`, `servicenow-update-user` or any other write tool.

**Validation:**

* Compare emails case-insensitively. If the two systems use different domains for the same person, flag it rather than matching.
* If several ServiceNow users match one email, list them all and do not pick one.
