The problem

Drip keeps sending to addresses that no longer exist

When an address bounces hard in Constant Contact, Drip has no idea and keeps sending to it. Catching them means exporting bounces, sorting permanent from temporary and searching Drip one email at a time.

Without PopdockAI

  • Export the bounce report from Constant Contact
  • Sort permanent bounces from full mailboxes
  • Search Drip for each address
  • Let sender reputation take the hit

With PopdockAI

  • Only permanent bounces are kept
  • Each address is looked up in Drip
  • Unfamiliar bounce types are listed and left alone
  • Tags are added after you confirm, nobody unsubscribed or created

Prompt
**Objective:** Warn Drip about bad addresses. Find addresses that bounced permanently in Constant Contact in the last `{lookback-days}` days (default 30), and after confirmation tag them in Drip with `{tag}` (default Bounced in Constant Contact).

**Step 1: Read the bounces**

Call `constant-contact-get-campaign-bounce` with `created-date.from` set to today minus the lookback. Keep only permanent bounces: read `bounce-type` and treat non-existent address, undeliverable and suspended as permanent. Skip temporary ones such as mailbox full or vacation. Collect the distinct `email-address` values with their latest bounce date and type.

**Step 2: Find them in Drip**

For each address, call `drip-get-subscriber` with `email` set to it. Keep only people found in Drip whose `tags` do not already include the tag.

**Step 3: Confirm**

Show a table: email, bounce type, bounce date, Drip `person-id`, Drip `status`. Ask: "Tag these N Drip subscribers with the tag?" Do nothing until the user says yes.

**Step 4: Write and confirm**

For each confirmed person, call `drip-add-subscriber-tag` once with `email` set to the address and `tag` set to the tag. Re-read with `drip-get-subscriber` and confirm the tag is present.

**Step 5: Report**

A table: email, result (tagged, already tagged, not in Drip, failed). Suggest the user review the tagged people before deciding to unsubscribe them; this prompt does not unsubscribe anyone.

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* `constant-contact-get-campaign-bounce` is on the constant-contact server. `drip-get-subscriber` and `drip-add-subscriber-tag` are on the drip server.
* The only write allowed is `drip-add-subscriber-tag`, after Step 3.
* Do NOT call `drip-unsubscribe-subscriber`, `drip-update-subscriber`, `drip-remove-subscriber-tag` or any constant-contact- action.

**Validation:**

* If there are no permanent bounces in the period, say so and stop.
* If the bounce type is blank or unfamiliar, list the address separately as unclassified and do not tag it.
* An address with no Drip record is reported as not in Drip, never created.
