The problem

Opted-in Shopify buyers who never made it into Drip

New Shopify customers who opt in should land in Drip, but sync gaps happen and nobody notices. Catching them means checking each email against Drip by hand, and one mistake either misses a buyer or re-adds someone who unsubscribed.

Without PopdockAI

  • Export recent Shopify customers and filter for marketing consent
  • Look up each email in Drip, minding upper and lower case
  • Add the missing ones and type the tag each time
  • Hope nobody who unsubscribed was added back

With PopdockAI

  • Opted-in Shopify customers with an email are read since your date
  • Each is looked up in Drip, with a lowercase retry
  • Anyone Drip already has is left alone, whatever their status
  • New subscribers are read back to check the tag landed

Prompt
**Objective:** Add every Shopify customer created on or after `{since-date}` (default 7 days ago) who accepts marketing and is not yet in Drip as a Drip subscriber, tagged `{tag}` (default shopify-customer).

**Step 1: List the Shopify customers**

Call `shopify-get-customer` with `created-at.from` set to `{since-date}` (or 7 days before today, YYYY-MM-DD) and `max-records` set to 100. Keep only customers with an email and accepts-marketing true.

**Step 2: Find who is missing from Drip**

For each kept customer, call `drip-get-subscriber` with `email` set to the Shopify email. Drop anyone already in Drip, whatever their status. Never re-add someone whose Drip status is unsubscribed.

**Step 3: Confirm**

Show the list to add (email, first-name, last-name, default-address-country-code) and the tag to apply. Ask the user to confirm. Do not continue without a clear yes. If the list is empty, say everyone is already in Drip and stop.

**Step 4: Add them**

For each confirmed customer, call `drip-add-subscriber` with `email`, `first_name` and `last_name` from Shopify, and `tags` set to `{tag}` (or shopify-customer). Call it once per customer.

**Step 5: Verify and report**

Call `drip-get-subscriber` with each added email and confirm it now exists with the tag. Report added, failed (with the error) and skipped counts, and list any failures.

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* `shopify-get-customer` is on the shopify server; `drip-get-subscriber` and `drip-add-subscriber` are on the drip server.
* `drip-add-subscriber` is the only tool that may write, and only after Step 3's confirmation.
* Do NOT call `drip-add-subscriber-to-campaign`, `drip-start-subscriber-workflow`, `drip-update-subscriber` or `shopify-update-customer`.

**Validation:**

* Compare emails case-insensitively; before treating a customer as missing, retry the Drip lookup once in lowercase.
* If Shopify returned exactly 100 customers, say the list may be truncated and suggest a later `{since-date}`.
* If a Shopify name is blank, pass only the email.

Who it's for

One answer, three teams that use it

Lifecycle marketers

Start every new buyer on the right workflow

Missing customers arrive in Drip tagged, so the automations that key off that tag pick them up.

Add Shopify customers from the last 30 days who accept marketing and are not in Drip, tagged new-buyer.

Marketing operations

Find the sync gaps nobody noticed

A regular check catches customers the integration missed without risking anyone who already opted out.

Check which opted-in Shopify customers since 1 August never made it into Drip and add them with the tag shopify-sync.

Store owners

Email the customers who asked to hear from you

Buyers who wanted your emails start getting them, without a weekend spent comparing exports.

Are any of my Shopify customers who signed up for marketing this month missing from Drip? Add them tagged store-customer.
