The problem

Error owners quietly lose their Jira accounts

Giving an error and its Jira issue to the same person only works if they are active in both systems. When emails differ or a Jira account is deactivated, assignments quietly fail and nobody notices.

Without PopdockAI

  • List the Bugsnag project's collaborators
  • Search Jira for each person by name
  • Miss deactivated accounts and different emails
  • Find out when an issue goes unowned

With PopdockAI

  • Collaborators are matched to Jira by email, never by name
  • Groups show matched and active, inactive in Jira or no Jira user
  • Blank emails and multiple matches are reported
  • It only reads, and checks the Jira side is connected

Prompt
**Objective:** For Bugsnag project {bugsnag-project-name}, report which collaborators have a matching active Jira user, matched on email address, and which do not. Anyone unmatched cannot be given ownership of a problem end to end. Read-only.

**Step 1: List the Bugsnag collaborators (bugsnag server)**

Call `bugsnag-get-project-collaborator` filtered by project-name {bugsnag-project-name}, with max-records set to {max-records} (default 100). Keep collaborator-name, collaborator-email, project-roles, administrator and pending-invitation. If nothing comes back, report that the project name matched no collaborators and stop.

**Step 2: Match each one in Jira (jira server)**

For each collaborator, call `jira-get-user` filtered by that collaborator-email. Keep user-account-id, name and active. Then, for those that matched, call `jira-get-team-member` filtered by the same email to see whether they belong to a Jira team.

Match on email only. Do not treat similar display names as a match; two people can share a name and one person can hold two accounts.

**Step 3: Report**

Three groups:

* Matched and active: name, email, Bugsnag project roles, Jira team membership where found.
* Matched but inactive in Jira: these will fail an assignment.
* No Jira user: name, email, and whether the Bugsnag invitation is still pending.

End with the count in each group and one line on what to do about the third group.

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* `bugsnag-get-project-collaborator` is on the bugsnag server. `jira-get-user` and `jira-get-team-member` are on the jira server. Both servers, plus this one, must be connected.
* This prompt is read-only. Do not call `bugsnag-add-project-collaborator`, `bugsnag-add-project`, `jira-add-project`, `jira-add-issue-watcher` or any other action tool on either server.
* A pending Bugsnag invitation is not an error. Report it as its own state.

**Validation:**

* If `jira-get-user` returns more than one user for an email, list them all rather than choosing.
* If an email is blank on the Bugsnag side, report the collaborator as unmatchable and say why, rather than skipping them silently.
* If every collaborator is unmatched, check the Jira side is really connected before reporting a total mismatch.
