Change when a Postman monitor runs, with the schedule in plain words
For API teams who want a Postman monitor's schedule or name changed by asking their AI assistant, with the cron expression checked first.

Connector
Connect Postman, pick your AI tool and paste the prompt.
The problem
A wrong cron line means checks run at the wrong time
Changing when a Postman monitor runs means finding the right one among similar names, writing a cron expression correctly and remembering the timezone. Get it wrong and checks run at the wrong time, or not at all, with nobody noticing.
Without PopdockAI
- Find the monitor among similar names
- Write the cron expression by hand
- Forget the timezone
- Edit a paused monitor and expect it to run
With PopdockAI
- The monitor is found with the collection and environment it runs
- A paused monitor is flagged before you change it
- The cron is checked and read back in plain words
- Only the fields you asked to change are sent, after you confirm

**Objective:** Change the Postman monitor named `{monitor-name}` so it runs on `{schedule}` (a cron expression) in timezone `{timezone}`, and/or rename it to `{new-name}`.
**Step 1: Find the monitor**
Call `postman-get-monitors` with `name` = `{monitor-name}` (fall back to `name.contains`). If several match, list monitor name, active and the collection it runs, and ask which. Keep monitor-id, collection-uid, environment-uid and active.
**Step 2: Show context**
Name the collection and environment it runs: call `postman-get-collections` and `postman-get-environments` and match on collection-uid and environment-uid. If the monitor is paused (active = false), say that changing the schedule will not make it run.
**Step 3: Work out the change**
* If `{schedule}` is given, check it is a five-field cron and translate it into words. A schedule must go with a timezone: use `{timezone}`, or ask for one if it is empty.
* If `{new-name}` is given, check no other monitor already has that name.
* If neither `{schedule}` nor `{new-name}` is given, ask what to change and stop.
**Step 4: Confirm, then update**
Show the monitor, its collection and environment, and exactly what will change. After a clear yes, call `postman-update-monitor` once with `monitor-id` and only the fields being changed (`cron` with `timezone`, and/or `name`).
**Step 5: Report**
Confirm the change with the monitor name and the new schedule in words.
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* The monitor list does not return the current schedule, so do not claim what it was before.
* `postman-update-monitor` is the only write, called once. Do NOT call `postman-run-monitor` or `postman-add-monitor`.
**Validation:**
* If no monitor matches, list the existing monitor names and stop.Who it's for
One answer, three teams that use it
QA engineers
Move a check to a quieter time
Change when a monitor runs and hear the schedule back in plain words before it is saved.
Change the Payments smoke monitor in Postman to run every hour on weekdays, UTC.
DevOps engineers
Align monitors with maintenance windows
Shift a schedule around a release window without hand-writing cron.
Move the Orders nightly Postman monitor to 4am Pacific every day.
API platform engineers
Rename monitors safely
A rename is checked against existing monitor names, so two monitors never end up with the same name.
Rename the Checkout monitor in Postman to Checkout Production hourly.
How it works
What PopdockAI does when you ask
You name the monitor and give a new schedule or name, and your AI assistant checks it before anything changes. A timezone is required, and nothing is updated until you confirm.
01
Ask
You name the monitor and give a new schedule, a new name or both.
02
Check
It shows what the monitor runs and warns if it is paused.
03
Confirm
It reads the schedule back in plain words and checks the name.
04
Update
It sends only the fields you asked to change.
