Take Business Central sales orders with stock and credit checked
For sales teams who want orders that check stock, credit and overdue invoices before the customer is promised anything, by asking their AI assistant.

Connector
Connect Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, pick your AI tool and paste the prompt.
The problem
Under pressure, stock and credit checks get skipped
Taking a sales order should mean checking the customer is not blocked, stock covers each line and the order will not breach credit or ignore overdue invoices. When the phone is ringing, those checks get skipped.
Without PopdockAI
- Look up the customer and check for blocks
- Check stock for each item on a separate screen
- Compare the order with the credit limit
- Promise an order that cannot ship
With PopdockAI
- The customer is checked for a shipping block
- Each item is resolved and compared with available stock
- Credit limit and invoices over 30 days overdue are flagged
- You see every warning, then the order is created once
The prompt
Use this prompt
Copy it into any AI tool connected to PopdockAI. Swap the values in braces for your own.
**Objective:** Create a sales order for `{customer-name}` containing `{lines}`, for delivery on `{delivery-date}` (default no requested date).
Pass `{company}` as the company argument on every call. If `{company}` is empty, leave the company argument out so the connector's default company is used.
**Step 1: Resolve the customer**
Call `business-central-get-customer` with name.contains set to `{customer-name}`. If several match, list them and stop. If blocked is Ship or All, stop and explain. Note balance, balance-due and credit-limit.
**Step 2: Resolve each line and check stock**
For each entry in `{lines}` call `business-central-get-item` with item-number, falling back to description.contains. Stop and ask on no match or several matches. Refuse blocked items. For each item compute available = inventory minus quantity-on-sales-order and warn when the order quantity exceeds it.
**Step 3: Credit check**
Order total = sum of quantity times unit-price. If credit-limit is above 0 and balance plus order total exceeds it, warn with the numbers. Call `business-central-get-posted-sales-invoice` with sell-to-customer-number, remaining-amount.min 0.01 and due-date.to 30 days ago; if anything is more than 30 days overdue, warn.
**Step 4: Preview and confirm**
Show customer, delivery date, lines (item, description, quantity, unit price, amount, available), total, and every warning. Ask the user to confirm.
**Step 5: Create**
After confirmation:
1. Call `business-central-create-sales-order` once with customer-number and bill-to-customer-number set to the customer number, order-date today, requested-delivery-date `{delivery-date}` when given, and external-document-number if the user gave a PO reference.
2. For each line call `business-central-create-sales-order-line` with document-number from the new order, line-type Item, number-on-line, quantity and unit-price when the user gave one.
**Step 6: Confirm the result**
Call `business-central-get-sales-transaction` with document-number and document-type Order, and `business-central-get-sales-transaction-line` with document-number. Report the order number, total and any failed line.
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* Do not call any create or update tool until the user has confirmed the exact values shown in the preview.
* Warnings do not block the order, but the user must see them before confirming.
* Call `business-central-create-sales-order` exactly once.
**Validation:**
* If `{lines}` is empty, ask for the items first.Who it's for
One answer, three teams that use it
Sales reps
Take orders while you are on the call
Place an order in one message and hear about stock or credit problems before you promise anything.

Order desk
Enter orders without screen hopping
Customer, stock and credit checks happen together, so orders are entered faster and with fewer corrections.

Orders that would breach the limit or follow overdue invoices are flagged up front, not found later.
Would a new order for Contoso of 30 Trail Jackets put them over their Business Central credit limit? Create it if not.
How it works
What PopdockAI does when you ask
You name the customer and items and your AI assistant runs the stock and credit checks in Business Central. Every warning is in the preview, and nothing is created until you confirm.
01
Ask
You name the customer, items and optionally a delivery date.
02
Check
It resolves each item, compares stock and checks credit and overdue invoices.
03
Confirm
You see every warning in the preview and say yes.
04
Create
It creates the order once and reads it back with any failed line.
The outcome
Orders placed with stock and credit already checked
