Give every Business Central job one Teamwork.com project
For project and operations teams who want a Teamwork.com project created for a Dynamics 365 Business Central job by asking their AI assistant.

The problem
New jobs need a project, and someone always makes two
Each new Dynamics 365 Business Central job needs a matching Teamwork.com project. Doing it by hand means checking for an existing one, finding the client and owner and copying dates, and duplicates appear when two people do it.
Without PopdockAI
- Look up the job in Business Central
- Search Teamwork.com for a project that may already exist
- Find the client company and owner, then copy the dates
- Clean up the duplicate project later
With PopdockAI
- The job is read and stopped if it is completed or blocked
- Teamwork.com is searched by job number, then description
- Client and owner are matched without creating a company
- Nothing is created until you confirm, then the project is read back

**Objective:** Make sure Business Central job `{job-number}` in company `{company}` (default: the default company) has a Teamwork project. Create one, after the user confirms, if it does not.
**Step 1: Read the job**
Call `business-central-get-job` (Business Central server) with `job-number` set to `{job-number}`, and `company` set to `{company}` when given. If nothing comes back, stop and say the job was not found. Keep `description`, `bill-to-name`, `bill-to-customer-number`, `starting-date`, `ending-date`, `status` and `person-responsible-name`. If the job is Completed or blocked, say so and stop.
**Step 2: Check for an existing project**
Call `teamwork-get-projects` (Teamwork server) with `name.contains` set to `{job-number}`. If a project comes back, report it (project-id, project-name, status) and stop. Nothing needs creating. Repeat the check with the job description, and if that finds a project for the same client, report it as a possible existing project and ask before creating another.
**Step 3: Resolve the client and owner**
Call `teamwork-get-companies` with `name.contains` set to the job's bill-to-name, and choose the company whose name matches it. If none matches, say so and ask whether to create the project with no company. Do not create a company.
If the job has a person-responsible-name, call `teamwork-get-people` with `name.contains` set to that name to find the owner's person-id. If there is no match, leave the owner blank.
**Step 4: Confirm**
Show the project that would be created: name "`{job-number}` - <job description>", company, owner, start-date and end-date from the job, and a description that names the Business Central job. Ask the user to confirm. If they do not clearly say yes, stop without creating anything.
**Step 5: Create and verify**
After the user confirms, call `teamwork-create-project` with `name`, `company-id`, `owner-id`, `start-date`, `end-date` and `description`. Then call `teamwork-get-projects` with the new `project-id` and report the stored project.
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* `business-central-get-job` is on the Business Central server. `teamwork-get-projects`, `teamwork-get-companies`, `teamwork-get-people` and `teamwork-create-project` are on the Teamwork server.
* `teamwork-create-project` is the only tool that may write, only once, and only after the user confirms in Step 4. Do NOT call `teamwork-clone-project`, `teamwork-create-company`, `teamwork-create-tasklist`, or any `business-central-update-*` tool.
**Validation:**
* Pass dates as YYYY-MM-DD. If the job has no starting-date or ending-date, leave that date blank.
* If `teamwork-create-project` fails, report the error as returned and do not retry with different values.Who it's for
One answer, three teams that use it
Project managers
Start delivery the day the job is set up
Get a Teamwork.com project with the right client, owner and dates from the job number, without retyping anything.
Create the Teamwork.com project for Business Central job J-2087 and make me the owner.
Project coordinators
Stop creating duplicate projects
Every request is checked against existing projects by job number and description first, so the same job never ends up with two.
Is there already a Teamwork.com project for job J-1990? If not, set one up.
Operations managers
Keep jobs and projects in step
Each Business Central job gets one project with matching dates, so delivery and finance are talking about the same work.
Set up a Teamwork.com project for the Fabrikam installation job J-1105 with the job dates.
How it works
What PopdockAI does when you ask
You give the job number and your AI assistant checks Teamwork.com before anything is set up. The project is created only after you have seen it and said yes.
01

You give the job number.
02
Check
It reads the job and searches Teamwork.com for a project by job number and description.
03
Confirm
You see the project, client, owner and dates it would create.
04
Create
It creates the project once and reads it back.
