The problem
Campaign results still come from a spreadsheet
Reporting on a DonorPerfect campaign means confirming the code, pulling every gift and adding up totals, averages and monthly giving in a spreadsheet. Naming top donors and comparing them with their usual giving takes another round of lookups.
Without PopdockAI
- Find the right campaign code
- Export every gift in the date range
- Work out totals and averages by hand
- Look up top donors one by one
With PopdockAI
- The exact campaign code is confirmed before any gifts are read
- Totals, averages, donors and monthly giving are worked out
- Outright gifts and pledge payments are split
- Top ten donors with lifetime totals, nothing changed

**Objective:** Report on what campaign `{campaign}` raised between `{from-date}` and `{to-date}`, who gave, and how much of it came from donors new to the campaign. This is read-only.
**Step 1: Confirm the campaign code**
Call `donorperfect-get-code` filtered on the campaign field, using `description.contains` if `{campaign}` looks like a description rather than a code. Confirm the exact code value before pulling any gifts. If several campaigns match, list them and stop.
**Step 2: Pull the gifts**
Call `donorperfect-get-gift` filtered by `campaign` with `gift-date.from` set to `{from-date}` and `gift-date.to` set to `{to-date}`. Raise `max-records` enough to cover the range and say what you set it to.
If nothing comes back, report that the campaign raised nothing in the window and stop.
**Step 3: Roll it up**
From the gift rows, work out:
* total raised, gift count, and average gift
* number of distinct `donor-id` values
* the split between outright gifts and pledge payments, using `record-type` and `pledge-payment`
* giving by month across the range
**Step 4: Name the top donors**
Take the ten largest `donor-id` totals and call `donorperfect-get-donor` on each `donor-id` to turn them into names. For each, note their lifetime `gift-total` so a reader can see how this campaign compares with their usual giving.
**Step 5: Report**
1. A headline: total raised, gift count, distinct donors, average gift.
2. A month-by-month table across the range.
3. A top ten donors table: name, donor id, given to this campaign, lifetime total.
4. Two or three observations, such as a month that carried the campaign or a small number of donors carrying most of the total.
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* Read-only. Do not call any save tool.
* Every figure must come from the gift rows you pulled. Do not estimate a total you did not read.
* If you had to cap `max-records`, say so, and say the totals are a floor rather than the full picture.
**Validation:**
* If `{from-date}` or `{to-date}` is missing, use the last twelve months and say that is what you did.
* If the campaign code cannot be confirmed, stop rather than guessing at a similar one.
