The problem

Win and loss lessons drawn from memory

Knowing why deals are lost means comparing won and lost opportunities by size, source and type, and seeing which competitors keep appearing. Without the analysis, lessons come from memory and the loudest anecdote.

Without PopdockAI

  • Export closed deals to a spreadsheet
  • Work out win rates by source and type by hand
  • Open the biggest losses for competitor notes
  • Settle on the loudest story

With PopdockAI

  • Closed deals are split into won and lost for you
  • Win rate, deal size and rates by source and type are worked out
  • Competitors and contacts on the largest losses are read
  • Read only, with inference labelled and small samples called out

Prompt
**Objective:** Explain what was won and lost in the last `{lookback-days}` days (default 90), for owner `{owner}` (default: all), and what the losses had in common.

**Step 1: Pull closed deals**

Call `salesforce-get-opportunity` with `closed` true, `close-date.from` set to today minus `{lookback-days}` days, `close-date.to` today, `owner.contains` set to `{owner}` when given, and `max-records` 1000. Split the results on `won`.

**Step 2: Compare won against lost**

* Win rate by count and by amount.
* Average deal size, won against lost.
* Win rate by lead-source and by type.
* For the lost deals with the largest amounts (up to 15), call `salesforce-get-opportunity-competitor` with `opportunity-id`. Tally the competitor names and quote any recorded strengths.
* For the same deals call `salesforce-get-opportunity-contact-role` with `opportunity-id`. Note lost deals that had no contact roles or no primary contact.

**Step 3: Report**

* A summary table: won count, won amount, lost count, lost amount, win rate.
* Win rate by lead source and by type, best first.
* Competitors seen on lost deals, most frequent first.
* Three evidence-backed observations about why deals were lost. Label anything that is inference rather than data.

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* This prompt is read-only. Do not call any write tool: `salesforce-add-account`, `salesforce-add-contact`, `salesforce-add-lead`, `salesforce-add-opportunity`, `salesforce-add-case`, `salesforce-add-task`, `salesforce-add-asset`, `salesforce-add-campaign`, `salesforce-update-account`, `salesforce-update-contact`, `salesforce-update-lead`, `salesforce-update-opportunity`, `salesforce-update-case`, `salesforce-update-task` or `salesforce-update-asset`.
* Do not treat a missing competitor record as "no competitor"; say the data is not recorded.

**Validation:**

* If there are fewer than five closed deals in the window, report the raw list and say the sample is too small for rates.
