The problem

Overwrite the wrong location and shipping goes astray

Setting up a warehouse or updating a site's address means checking whether the location exists, getting the code format right and editing only what changed. Overwriting the wrong location confuses shipping and receiving.

Without PopdockAI

  • Search locations by code and name
  • Decide whether to create or edit
  • Get the code format right by hand
  • Overwrite another site's details by mistake

With PopdockAI

  • One match means update, none means create
  • Several matches are listed and it stops
  • New codes are upper case and up to 10 characters
  • You see the change first, and only changed fields are written

Prompt
**Objective:** Create or update the location `{location}` with the details in `{details}`.

Pass `{company}` as the company argument on every call. If `{company}` is empty, leave the company argument out so the connector's default company is used.

**Step 1: Look it up**

Call `business-central-get-location` with location-code set to `{location}`, then with name.contains. If one matches, this is an update; if several match, list them and stop; if none, this is a create.

**Step 2: Collect the fields**

From `{details}` take display-name, address-line-1, city, state, postal-code, country, phone-number and email. For a create, the code is required: at most 10 characters, upper case.

**Step 3: Preview and confirm**

For an update, show a before-and-after table. For a create, show the record. Ask for confirmation.

**Step 4: Apply**

After confirmation call either `business-central-create-location` once, or `business-central-update-location` once with code and only the changed fields. Re-read with `business-central-get-location` and show the result.

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* Do not call any create or update tool until the user has confirmed the exact values shown in the preview.
* Bin, receipt and shipment settings are not available through these tools; say so if asked.

**Validation:**

* If `{details}` is empty on a create, ask for at least a name and address.
