The problem
Refund patterns only show when someone adds it all up
Understanding refunds in Shopify means going through each one for products, tax, shipping adjustments and whether stock went back on the shelf. Patterns, like one product refunded again and again, only show up when someone adds it all together.
Without PopdockAI
- Open each refund for its lines and adjustments
- Add up full and partial refunds by hand
- Count which products come back most
- Read every refund note for themes
With PopdockAI
- Every refund is read with lines, adjustments and the original order
- Full and partial refunds are totalled
- Top refunded products, restocks and repeat refunders are listed
- Themes from notes are drawn out, read-only

**Objective:** Summarize the refunds issued in the last `{lookback-days}` days (default 30): how much, on which products, whether stock went back, and which customers refund repeatedly.
**Step 1: Pull the refunds**
Call `shopify-get-refund` filtered by `created-at.from` (today minus the lookback). Keep refund-id, order-id, order-name, customer-id, customer-email, restock, note, total-adjustments and created-at.
**Step 2: Pull the refunded lines and adjustments**
* For each refund, call `shopify-get-refund-line` filtered by `order-refund-id` set to the refund-id. Keep sku, name, quantity, subtotal, total-tax, restock-type and location-id.
* For each refund, call `shopify-get-order-adjustment` filtered by `refund-id` for shipping and other adjustments (kind, amount, reason).
* For the refunded orders, call `shopify-get-order` filtered by `order-id` for the order total, so you can tell full refunds from partial ones.
**Step 3: Report**
* Totals: refund count, orders affected, value refunded (line subtotal plus tax plus adjustments), full versus partial refunds
* Top 10 refunded products by value: sku, name, quantity refunded, value, and the share restocked versus not restocked (by restock-type)
* Adjustments: totals by kind and reason
* Repeat refunders: customers with 2 or more refunds in the window, with count and value
* Notes: common themes in the refund note field, quoted briefly, only where several refunds share one
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* This prompt is read-only. Do not call `shopify-update-order`, `shopify-update-product`, `shopify-add-inventory-level` or any other add or update tool.
* A repeat refunder is a pattern to look at, not an accusation. Word it that way.
* If there are more than 100 refunds, sample the refund lines for the 100 most recent and say so.
**Validation:**
* If no refunds were issued in the window, say so and stop.
* If a refund has no refund lines, count it as an adjustment-only refund rather than dropping it.Who it's for
