The problem

Posting times picked by habit, not by clicks

Deciding when to post comes down to habit, because finding when your audience clicks means exporting hourly Bitly data and pivoting it by weekday and hour. One launch-day spike or one dominant country can skew the answer unnoticed.

Without PopdockAI

  • Export hourly click data from Bitly
  • Pivot by weekday and hour in a sheet
  • Miss the launch-day spike that skews it
  • Post at the usual time anyway

With PopdockAI

  • Hourly clicks are totalled by hour, weekday and slot
  • The five best slots and quiet hours are found
  • Launch-day spikes are shown with and without, and a dominant country is flagged
  • Thin samples are called out, and nothing is changed

Prompt
**Objective:** Find the hours of the day and days of the week when links tagged `{tag}` (or, if `{tag}` is empty, links in `{group-name}`) get the most clicks, over the last `{lookback-days}` days (default 60).

**Step 1: Read hourly clicks**

If `{tag}` and `{group-name}` are both empty, ask the user for one and stop. Otherwise call `bitly-get-click-hour` with `date.from` = today minus `{lookback-days}` days, `date.to` = today, and `tags.contains` = `{tag}` or `group-name` = `{group-name}`. Raise `max-records` until the full set is returned.

**Step 2: Aggregate**

* Total clicks by `hour` (0 to 23).
* Total clicks by weekday, derived from `date`.
* Total clicks by weekday and hour, to find the 5 best slots.
* Count how many distinct days had any clicks; if fewer than 14, say the sample is thin.

**Step 3: Context**

Call `bitly-get-metric-bitlink-country` with the same tag or group filter. If more than half the clicks come from one country, say the hours mostly reflect that audience.

**Step 4: Report**

* The 5 best weekday-and-hour slots, with clicks and share of total
* The best 3 hours overall and the best 2 weekdays
* The quietest hours, to avoid
* A one-line recommendation for when to post next

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* Do not call `bitly-add-bitlink` or `bitly-update-bitlink`. This prompt is read-only.
* Hours are as Bitly reports them (usually UTC). Do not convert unless the user names a time zone, and then state the conversion you applied.
* Launch-day spikes skew the result: if one date carries more than 30% of clicks, also give the result with that date excluded.

**Validation:**

* If no rows come back, say there were no clicks in the window and stop.
