Create Bitly campaign links once, tagged and in the right group
For marketers who want their AI assistant to create a short link without duplicates, missing tags or the wrong group.

The problem
Rushed short links end up duplicated, untagged or misplaced
Creating Bitly links in a hurry leads to duplicates, links in the wrong group, and missing titles and tags that keep them out of campaign reports. Each slip splits click data or hides the link from the people who need it.
Without PopdockAI
- Paste the URL and shorten it
- Forget to check for an existing link
- Skip the title and tags
- Create it in the wrong group
With PopdockAI
- The URL is checked and http pages are warned about
- An existing link to the same page is offered for reuse
- The group is found and a clear title proposed
- Nothing is created until you confirm, then the short URL is read back

**Objective:** Create a bitlink for `{long-url}` in the group `{group-name}` (default: the account's default group), tagged `{tags}`, with a clear title, without creating a duplicate.
**Step 1: Validate the URL**
`{long-url}` must start with `https://` or `http://`. If it has no scheme, add `https://` and tell the user. If it starts with `http://`, warn that the destination is insecure and ask whether to continue.
**Step 2: Check for an existing link**
Call `bitly-get-bitlink` with `long-url.contains` set to the URL without its scheme. If an unarchived bitlink already points at the same destination, show it (link, title, tags, group-name, created-date) and ask whether to reuse it or create another. Stop until the user answers.
**Step 3: Resolve the group**
If `{group-name}` is given, call `bitly-get-group` with `name` set to it and `active` = true. Use that row's `group-id` as `group-guid`. If no group matches exactly, retry with `name.contains`, list the matches and ask. If `{group-name}` is empty, omit `group-guid`.
**Step 4: Confirm**
Propose a title if none was supplied (from the destination page's purpose, at most 60 characters). Show: long URL, title, tags (lowercase, comma-separated, no spaces), group. Ask the user to confirm.
**Step 5: Create**
Call `bitly-add-bitlink` once with `long-url`, `title`, `tags` and `group-guid` (when resolved).
**Step 6: Confirm the result**
Call `bitly-get-bitlink` with `long-url.contains` again and report the new short link, title, tags and group.
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* `bitly-add-bitlink` is the only write allowed, called once, after the confirmation in Step 4.
* Never call `bitly-update-bitlink` from this prompt, even to fix a tag on the link you found in Step 2.
* Do not pass `domain` unless the user names a branded domain.
**Validation:**
* If the create call fails, report the error verbatim and do not retry with different values.Who it's for
One answer, three teams that use it
Email marketers
Create tracked links for each send
Each link is tagged and titled for reporting, without a trip into the Bitly app.
Create a Bitly link for https://contoso.com/october-news tagged newsletter in the Marketing group.
Social media managers
Avoid duplicate links
An existing link to the same page is offered first, so clicks are not split.
Make a Bitly link for https://fabrikam.com/launch, but reuse one if it already exists.
Event coordinators
Put links in the right group
The group you name is resolved before the link is created, so the right team sees it.
Create a Bitly link in the Events group for https://northwindtraders.com/summit tagged summit.
How it works
What PopdockAI does when you ask
You give a destination URL and your AI assistant prepares the Bitly link with title, tags and group. Nothing is created until you have seen it and said yes.
01
Ask
You give the destination URL, and optionally tags and a group.
02
Check
It warns about http pages and looks for an existing link to that page.
03
Confirm
You see the URL, title, tags and group and say yes.
04
Create
It creates the link and reads it back with the short URL.
