Know how your GP chart maps to Intacct before go-live
For finance teams moving to Sage Intacct who want the Dynamics GP chart of accounts mapped and checked, by asking their AI assistant.

The problem
Mapping a segmented chart by hand is slow and risky
Mapping a segmented Dynamics GP chart of accounts to Sage Intacct is slow and error prone. Accounts must be rolled up by main segment, matched despite leading zeros and checked for type and balance.
Without PopdockAI
- Roll up GP accounts by main segment in a spreadsheet
- Match numbers with and without leading zeros
- Check account type and normal balance pair by pair
- Argue over segments that hide several meanings
With PopdockAI
- Active GP accounts are read by main segment beside the Intacct chart
- Segments match exactly, then without leading zeros
- Type, normal balance and inactive accounts are checked for each pair
- Title matches are suggestions only, and nothing is changed

**Objective:** Map every active Dynamics GP account to its Intacct account and report what is unmapped or set up differently, optionally only for GP main account segment `{main-segment}` (default: all accounts).
**Step 1: Read the GP chart of accounts**
Call `dynamics-gp-get-gl-account` with `active` = true, and `main-account-segment` = `{main-segment}` when it is given. GP account numbers are segmented (for example 000-1100-00). Group the accounts by `main-account-segment`. For each segment keep the full account numbers under it, their descriptions, `posting-type` and `typical-balance`. The non-main segments usually became Intacct dimensions (department, location), not separate accounts.
**Step 2: Read the Intacct chart of accounts**
Call `intacct-get-account` (with `account-number` = `{main-segment}` when it is given). Keep `account-number`, `title`, `account-type`, `normal-balance` and `status`.
**Step 3: Match**
Match each GP main segment to an Intacct `account-number`: first exactly, then with leading zeros removed from both. If neither matches, compare the GP description to the Intacct title and list a close match as "suggested, not confirmed". Never treat a suggestion as a match in the totals.
For each match compare:
* GP `posting-type` Balance Sheet against Intacct `account-type` balance sheet, and Profit and Loss against income statement.
* GP `typical-balance` against Intacct `normal-balance` (Debit/Credit).
* Intacct `status` inactive while the GP account is active.
**Step 4: Report**
1. A one-line count: GP main segments, mapped, mapped with a mismatch, GP only, Intacct only.
2. Mapped with a mismatch: GP segment, GP description, Intacct account, what differs.
3. GP only (no Intacct account): segment, description, posting type, typical balance, how many full GP accounts roll into it.
4. Suggested matches awaiting confirmation.
5. Intacct only (no GP segment): account, title. These are often new accounts, not errors.
6. GP segments whose full accounts carry clearly different descriptions (for example "Cash - Operating" and "Cash - Payroll" under one segment). These need an Intacct dimension or separate accounts, so flag them for a decision.
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* Tools prefixed dynamics-gp- are on the dynamics-gp MCP server. Tools prefixed intacct- are on the intacct MCP server. Both servers must be connected; if a tool from either is missing, say which server is not connected and stop.
* Pass `{gp-company}` as `company` on every dynamics-gp- call and `{intacct-company}` as `company` on every intacct- call. Leave either empty to use that server's default company, and name the companies you used in the report.
* Set `max-records` high (5000) on every list read. If a read returns exactly that many rows, say the result may be truncated and narrow the filter (per account, per vendor, per customer or per item) instead of reporting totals from it.
* Read only. Do NOT call `intacct-create-account`, `intacct-update-account`, `dynamics-gp-gl-account-add` or `dynamics-gp-gl-account-update`. To create the missing accounts, use the create-missing-intacct-accounts prompt.
**Validation:**
* If GP returns no accounts, check the company and the segment and stop. If Intacct returns none, report every GP segment as GP only and say the Intacct chart looks empty.
* Compare account numbers as text; never add or strip characters other than leading zeros.Who it's for

Migration leads
See the mapping gaps early
GP only and Intacct only accounts are listed, so decisions are made well before cutover.

Check type and balance before go-live
Mismatched account types or normal balances are found while they are still easy to fix.

Decide where dimensions are needed
Segments that carry several meanings are flagged, so you can decide on dimensions or separate accounts.

How it works
What PopdockAI does when you ask
You optionally pick a main segment, and your AI assistant maps the Dynamics GP chart to Sage Intacct. It reports what lines up and what needs a decision, and only reads.
01
Ask
You optionally pick a main segment.
02
Read
It reads active Dynamics GP accounts by main segment and the Sage Intacct chart.
03
Match
It matches exactly, then without leading zeros, and checks type and balance.
04
Report
You get mismatches, one-sided accounts and segments needing a dimension.
