The problem
Cutover differences that double when you fix them
When an account in Sage Intacct does not tie to its Dynamics GP balance at cutover, someone works out both balances and keys a correcting entry against a clearing account. Get the sign or the period wrong and the difference doubles.
Without PopdockAI
- Rebuild the GP balance from period summaries
- Net the Intacct ledger to the same date
- Work out the sign of the correcting entry
- Key the entry and hope the account now ties
With PopdockAI
- Both balances are worked out at the cutover date
- It stops if the account already ties
- One entry is proposed, saved as a draft unless you ask to post
- Large gaps are flagged and the account is checked afterwards

**Objective:** Make Intacct account `{account-number}` match its Dynamics GP balance at `{cutover-date}` with one journal entry against clearing account `{clearing-account}`, after the user confirms it.
**Step 1: GP balance**
Ask the user for the GP fiscal year and the last GP period before cutover, unless they are already stated in this conversation. Call `dynamics-gp-get-gl-account-summary` with `main-account-segment` = `{account-number}` and that `year`. For a balance sheet account add `period-balance` for period 0 through the cutover period; for a Profit and Loss account add periods 1 through the cutover period. Use debit-positive amounts.
**Step 2: Intacct balance**
Call `intacct-get-account` for `{account-number}` and for `{clearing-account}`; if either does not exist, stop. Call `intacct-get-general-ledger-detail` with `account-number` = `{account-number}` and `entry-date.to` = `{cutover-date}` (for an income statement account, from the fiscal year start), and net `debit-amount` minus `credit-amount`.
**Step 3: Propose**
Difference = GP balance minus Intacct balance. If it is under 0.01, say the account already ties and stop. Otherwise propose:
* `posting-date`: `{cutover-date}` as MM/DD/YYYY.
* `journal`: GJ unless the user names another.
* `title`: "GP conversion adjustment {account-number}".
* A positive difference debits `{account-number}` and credits `{clearing-account}`; a negative one does the reverse. `debit-amount` and `credit-amount` are both the absolute difference.
* `state`: draft, unless the user asks to post.
Show the GP balance, the Intacct balance, the difference and the entry, and ask for confirmation.
**Step 4: Post**
Only after confirmation, call `intacct-create-journal-entry` once. If it fails (for example the period is closed), report the error and stop; do not retry with another date.
**Step 5: Confirm**
Call `intacct-get-journal-entry` for the new entry, then recompute the Intacct balance as in Step 2 and report whether the account now ties.
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* Tools prefixed dynamics-gp- are on the dynamics-gp MCP server. Tools prefixed intacct- are on the intacct MCP server. Both servers must be connected; if a tool from either is missing, say which server is not connected and stop.
* Pass `{gp-company}` as `company` on every dynamics-gp- call (empty means the default GP company). Use the default Intacct company; if the Intacct side holds several entities and it is not clear which one received this GP company, ask before starting.
* Set `max-records` high (5000) on every list read. If a read returns exactly that many rows, say the result may be truncated and narrow the filter (per account, per vendor, per customer or per item) instead of reporting totals from it.
* One write only: `intacct-create-journal-entry`, once, after confirmation. Never call `intacct-update-journal-entry`. Never write to GP: do NOT call `dynamics-gp-gl-account-transaction-add`.
**Validation:**
* Refuse if `{account-number}` and `{clearing-account}` are the same account.
* If the difference is large relative to the balance (over 10 percent), say so and suggest running reconcile-trial-balance-at-cutover first, since a mapping error is more likely than a missing balance.Who it's for

Migration accountants
Fix a tie-out difference quickly
Both balances and the correcting entry are worked out for you, so one account is cleared without a spreadsheet.
Account 2000 is off between GP and Intacct at our 31 March cutover. Propose a fix against clearing 9990.
Controllers
Approve every adjustment before it lands
Entries are saved as drafts unless you ask to post, so you review the adjustment before it hits the ledger.

A gap over 10 percent comes with a warning to check the full trial balance before adjusting one account.
Does account 4000 tie between GP and Intacct at 30 June? If not, what entry would fix it?
How it works
What PopdockAI does when you ask
You name the account, cutover date and clearing account, and your AI assistant works out the difference between Dynamics GP and Sage Intacct. Nothing is written until you confirm the one proposed entry.
01
Ask
You name the account, the cutover date and a clearing account.
02
Compare
It works out both balances at cutover and stops if they already tie.
03
Confirm
You see one proposed entry, saved as a draft unless you ask to post.
04
Create
It creates the entry and checks the account now ties.
