The problem

Blocked and missing items still on sale

A store catalog drifts from the Dynamics 365 Business Central item list: SKUs that do not exist there, blocked items still on sale and prices or stock that disagree. Checking every product and variation by hand is not realistic for a busy store.

Without PopdockAI

  • Export products and variations
  • Look up each SKU in Business Central
  • Check blocked flags, prices and stock
  • Sell an item that was blocked

With PopdockAI

  • Published products are read, using variations rather than parents
  • Each SKU is found by item number, then barcode, exactly
  • Issues are classed as no SKU, missing, blocked, price or stock
  • Likely tax-driven price gaps are called out, and nothing is edited

Prompt
**Objective:** Compare the published WooCommerce catalog (only category {category} if given, otherwise all categories, up to {max-products} products, default 100) with Business Central items, matching the WooCommerce SKU to the Business Central item number. Use Business Central company {company} (if blank, leave `company` off).

**Step 1: Collect the WooCommerce SKUs**

Call `woocommerce-get-product` with `status` publish, `max-records` set to the product limit, and `categories.contains` set to {category} if it was given. For every product whose type is variable, call `woocommerce-get-product-variation` with its `product-id`: the variations carry the SKUs that are actually sold, so compare the variations and not the parent. For each SKU keep the product or variation name, regular-price, sale-price, stock-quantity and stock-status.

**Step 2: Find each SKU in Business Central**

Call `business-central-get-item` with `item-number` set to the SKU. If nothing comes back, try once more with `gtin` set to the SKU, because some stores use the barcode as the SKU. Note the item-number, description, unit-price, inventory and blocked.

**Step 3: Classify each SKU**

* **No SKU:** the WooCommerce product or variation has an empty SKU, so it cannot be matched.
* **Missing from Business Central:** neither lookup found an item.
* **Blocked in Business Central:** the item exists but is blocked, while the product is still published online.
* **Price differs:** WooCommerce regular-price and Business Central unit-price differ by more than 0.01. Show sale-price alongside but do not compare it.
* **Stock differs:** WooCommerce stock-quantity is set (stock is managed) and differs from Business Central inventory.
* **Matched:** none of the above.

**Step 4: Report**

Counts per class first, then one table per class that has entries (skip Matched), with columns SKU, WooCommerce name, Business Central item number and description, and the two values being compared.

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* Tools whose names start with woocommerce- are on the woocommerce server; tools whose names start with business-central- are on the business-central server.
* This prompt is read-only. Do not call `woocommerce-update-product`, `woocommerce-update-product-variation`, `business-central-update-item` or `business-central-create-item`. To push Business Central values to the store, the user can run sync-products-from-business-central.

**Validation:**

* Match SKUs exactly, ignoring only leading and trailing spaces. Never match on product name.
* Business Central inventory is summed across all locations; say so once in the report.
* If most price differences are the same percentage, point out that one system probably includes tax and the other does not, rather than listing each as an error.
* If WooCommerce returns no products, say so and stop.
