The problem

Reorder decisions without incoming stock or demand in view

Deciding what to reorder in Shopify means checking available stock per location, then what is already on its way and what open orders still need. Doing that item by item across locations is slow, and short items are easy to miss.

Without PopdockAI

  • Filter inventory by location for low items
  • Look up incoming stock and expected dates
  • Count demand from unfulfilled orders
  • Miss items that are short once demand is counted

With PopdockAI

  • Tracked items at or below your threshold are found
  • Incoming stock with dates and open order demand are added
  • Rows where demand exceeds supply are marked short with the cost
  • No reorder quantities are invented, and nothing is changed

Prompt
**Objective:** List the tracked items with `{threshold}` or fewer units available (default 5) at the location `{location-name}` (default all active locations), together with incoming stock and open demand, ranked by urgency.

**Step 1: Resolve the location**

`shopify-get-inventory-level` filters by location id only, so resolve the name first. Call `shopify-get-location` filtered by `name.contains` set to `{location-name}`, or filtered by `active` true if no name was given. If the name matches more than one location, list them and stop. Keep location-id and name.

**Step 2: Find the low stock**

For each location, call `shopify-get-inventory-level` filtered by `location-id`, `tracked` true and `available.max` set to the threshold. Keep inventory-item-id, sku, available and cost.

**Step 3: Add context**

* Call `shopify-get-inventory-item` filtered by `inventory-item-id` for product-title and variant-title.
* Call `shopify-get-inventory-level-scheduled-change` filtered by `inventory-item-id` and `location-id` for incoming quantity and expected-at.
* For open demand, call `shopify-get-fulfillment-order-line` filtered by `sku` and add up remaining-quantity. Cap this at the 25 lowest items and say so if you stopped.

**Step 4: Report**

Per location, a table sorted by urgency (negative or zero available with open demand first, then lowest available):

| SKU | Product | Variant | Available | Open demand | Incoming | Expected | Unit cost |

Mark rows where open demand exceeds available plus incoming as short. End with the count of short items and the total cost to cover the shortfall at unit cost.

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* This prompt is read-only. Do not call `shopify-add-inventory-level`, `shopify-update-product`, `shopify-update-location` or any other add or update tool.
* Only include tracked items; an untracked item's available count is meaningless.
* Do not recommend reorder quantities; there is no sales-velocity data here. Report the shortfall only.

**Validation:**

* If nothing is at or below the threshold, say so and stop.
* If the location name matches nothing, list the active location names from `shopify-get-location` and stop.

Who it's for
