The problem

Account edits that blank fields or hit the wrong account

Updating a Salesforce account sounds simple, but a rename can clash with another account, a field gets cleared by accident or a change lands on a similarly named account. Most of these mistakes are only noticed when a report looks wrong.

Without PopdockAI

  • Search for the account and hope it is the right one
  • Edit several fields at once
  • Clear a field by accident
  • Rename into a clash with another account

With PopdockAI

  • Exactly one account is matched first
  • Changes are mapped to supported fields, and out of scope ones named
  • Renames are checked against existing names
  • Only changed fields are written after you confirm, and nothing is blanked unless asked

The prompt

Prompt
**Objective:** Change the details of account `{account-name}` as described in `{changes}` (for example "industry Retail, website acme.com, billing city Leeds").

**Step 1: Resolve the account**

Call `salesforce-get-account` with `name` set to `{account-name}`. If nothing matches, retry with `name.contains`. If more than one account matches, list them (name, billing city, owner, account ID) and stop. Use the returned account-id for every later call.

**Step 2: Build the change set**

Map `{changes}` onto only these fields: name, type, industry, website, phone, billing-city, billing-country, description. Anything else is out of scope; say so. If the change renames the account, call `salesforce-get-account` with `name` set to the new name and warn if another account already has it.

**Step 3: Confirm and update**

Show a table of field, current value, new value, leaving out fields that do not change. Show the exact values you will send and wait for the user to confirm before any write. If they change anything, show the revised values and confirm again. Then call `salesforce-update-account` once with `id` and only the changed fields.

**Step 4: Report**

What changed.

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* `salesforce-update-account` is the only write tool this prompt may call, and only once.
* Never clear a field unless the user explicitly asks for it to be blank.

**Validation:**

* If `{changes}` maps to no supported field, say so and stop.
