Know what blocks your Sage Intacct close before you start it
For accountants and controllers who want every open item that would stop a period close found in one pass, by asking their AI assistant.

The problem
One missed open item can force you to reopen the books
Before closing a period in Sage Intacct you hunt through journals, bills, invoices, bank reconciliations, timesheets and expense reports for anything open. Each check is on a different screen, and one miss can force you to reopen the books.
Without PopdockAI
- Check unposted journal entries
- Hunt for draft bills, invoices and adjustments
- Confirm every bank and card account is reconciled
- Chase unapproved timesheets and expense reports
With PopdockAI
- Every close check run across ledger, subledgers, bank, time and expenses
- Real blockers separated from expected items
- Failed checks marked could not check, never clear
- A ready or not ready verdict, nothing changed
The prompt

**Objective:** Check whether the period from {period-start-date} to {period-end-date} is ready to close (the start defaults to the first day of the end date's month), and list every open item that blocks it.
**Step 1: General ledger**
Call `intacct-get-journal-entry` with `posting-date.from` and `posting-date.to` for the period. List every entry whose `state` is not posted, with its transaction number, description and state. Separately note entries with an `automatic-reversal-date` in the next period; they are expected, not blockers.
**Step 2: Subledgers**
Call `intacct-get-bill` (`bill-date.from` and `bill-date.to`), `intacct-get-invoice` (`invoice-date.from` and `invoice-date.to`), `intacct-get-ap-adjustment` and `intacct-get-ar-adjustment` (`adjustment-date.from` and `adjustment-date.to`), each limited to the period. List the documents still in a draft, submitted or declined `state`.
**Step 3: Recurring transactions that did not run**
Call `intacct-get-recurring-bill` and `intacct-get-recurring-invoice` with `next-execution-date.to` set to the period end date. An active template whose `next-execution-date` is on or before the period end has not generated its transaction.
**Step 4: Bank and cards**
* Call `intacct-get-checking-account`, `intacct-get-savings-account` and `intacct-get-charge-card-account`. For each active account, flag a `last-reconciled-date` before the period end: that account has not been reconciled through the period.
* Call `intacct-get-deposit` with `deposit-date.from` 90 days before the period end and `deposit-date.to` the period end, and `intacct-get-ap-payment` with the same range on `payment-date.from` and `payment-date.to`. Rows that are not `cleared` and are dated more than 30 days before the period end are stale; list them. Newer uncleared items are normal timing and not blockers.
**Step 5: Time, expenses and receipts**
* Call `intacct-get-timesheet` with `begin-date.from` and `begin-date.to` for the period. List the timesheets not yet approved, by employee.
* Call `intacct-get-expense-report` with `report-date.from` and `report-date.to` for the period. List the reports not yet approved.
* Call `intacct-get-purchasing-transaction` with `document-date.from` and `document-date.to` for the period. Receipt-type documents whose `state` shows they were never converted to a vendor invoice are goods received but not invoiced, which usually need an accrual.
**Step 6: Report**
A checklist table, one row per check: check, status (Clear, Needs action, or Could not check), count, amount, and a one-line detail. Then the open items grouped by owner: GL, AP, AR, cash, and time and expenses. End with a verdict: ready to close, or not ready and the items that block it.
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* This prompt is read-only. Do not call `intacct-create-journal-entry`, `intacct-update-journal-entry`, `intacct-create-recurring-bill` or any other create or update tool.
* Use the `state` values each tool's schema lists, or the values the rows actually return. Do not guess state names.
* If a call fails, mark that check "Could not check". Never mark it Clear.
* Pass dates as YYYY-MM-DD. If the user names an Intacct company, pass it as `company` on every call.
**Validation:**
* If the period end date is missing, ask for it.
* If a check returns exactly `max-records` rows, mark it incomplete.Who it's for
