The problem

Enrolling a device means finding four ids first

Enrolling devices in a Geotab add-in needs the solution id, the database, the account id and the serials, each found on a different screen. Pick the wrong installation or unenroll every device and customers lose features they pay for.

Without PopdockAI

  • Find the add-in installation and solution id
  • Look up the account id for the database
  • Check which devices are already enrolled
  • Risk unenrolling every device by mistake

With PopdockAI

  • The installation, solution id and account id are resolved
  • Devices already in the target state are skipped
  • You see everything first, with a warning before removing all devices
  • One change after you confirm, with the audit log entries shown

Prompt
**Objective:** {operation} device(s) {device-serials} in add-in `{add-in-name}` on database {database}. A blank device list means all devices in the database. These tools change live MyAdmin data. Never call a write tool before the user has explicitly confirmed the exact values in this conversation.

**Step 1: Resolve the add-in**

Call `geotab-myadmin-get-device-add-in` with add-in.contains = {add-in-name} and, if given, database = {database}. It must resolve to exactly one installation; if several, list database and status and ask which. Take its solution ID and database.

**Step 2: Resolve the account ID**

The write tools need a numeric account-id. Call `geotab-myadmin-get-customer` and take account-id from the row for this account (match on the account number shown by `geotab-myadmin-get-device-contract` for one of the devices if needed). If it cannot be resolved to one value, ask the user.

**Step 3: Current enrolment**

For each listed serial, call `geotab-myadmin-get-device-add-in-detail` with device-serial = the serial. Skip serials already in the target state.

**Step 4: Confirm**

Show add-in, database, solution ID, account ID, operation and the serials (or "all devices"). Ask the user to confirm.

**Step 5: Write, once**

* enroll + serials: `geotab-myadmin-enroll-device-from-add-in` with device-serial-numbers as a JSON array.
* unenroll + serials: `geotab-myadmin-unenroll-device-from-add-in` with device-serial-numbers as a JSON array.
* enroll + blank: `geotab-myadmin-enroll-all-devices-from-add-in`.
* unenroll + blank: `geotab-myadmin-unenroll-all-devices-from-add-in`. Warn first that this removes every device.

Pass account-id, solution-id and database-name in every case.

**Step 6: Verify**

Call `geotab-myadmin-get-device-add-in-audit-log` with database and action-date.from = today, and report the entries.

**Rules & Guidelines:**

* Only one write tool call. If {operation} is not enroll or unenroll, ask and stop.

**Validation:**

* If the add-in is not found, stop without writing.

Who it's for

One answer, three teams that use it

Fleet administrators

Enroll new vehicles by serial

Give the serials and the add-in, and the ids are looked up for you.

Enroll Geotab devices G9A2B3C4D5E6 and G9B3C4D5E6F7 in the Fuel Tracker add-in on fabrikam_fleet.

Reseller operations

Remove devices without collateral damage

A clear warning appears before an unenroll that would remove every device.

Unenroll Geotab device G9C4D5E6F7A8 from the Route Planner add-in on northwind_ops.

Support specialists

Show the audit trail after a change

The audit log entries the change created are shown, so the record is clear for the customer.

Enroll all devices on contoso_fleet in the Driver Coaching add-in and show me the audit entries.
