The problem
Fund variances explained line by line through ledger detail
Fund totals in Bloomerang and revenue in Sage Intacct drift apart through timing, unreversed refunds, pledges and miscoding. Explaining each variance means pulling both sides by fund and reading ledger detail line by line.
Without PopdockAI
- Map funds to accounts by hand
- Export gifts, refunds and pledges
- Read Intacct ledger detail line by line
- Guess at the cause of each variance
With PopdockAI
- Each fund is mapped to its Sage Intacct account, shared accounts combined
- Gifts, refunds, pledges and payments are totalled without double counting
- Booked revenue is read on an accrual basis
- Variances over threshold get a likely cause, and nothing is changed

**Objective:** For `{start-date}` to `{end-date}`, compare what Bloomerang recorded for each fund with what Sage Intacct booked to that fund's general ledger account, for the fund named `{fund-name}` if one is given (default: every active fund). Explain each variance. Change nothing.
**Step 1: Map funds to GL accounts (Bloomerang)**
Call `bloomerang-get-fund` with `active` true, or with `name` set to the fund if one is given. Each fund's `general-ledger-class` is the Intacct account number it should post to. A fund with a blank `general-ledger-class` cannot be reconciled; list it as unmapped. If several funds share one account, reconcile that account once against their combined total.
**Step 2: Total the giving per fund (Bloomerang)**
Call `bloomerang-get-transaction` with `date.from` and `date.to` set to the period, then `bloomerang-get-designation` with `transaction-id` for each transaction to see how it splits across funds. If the period holds more than about 200 transactions, call `bloomerang-get-designation` per fund instead, with `fund-name` and `created-date.from` / `created-date.to`, and say in the report that this counts gifts by entry date, not gift date.
Keep designations of each `type` apart. A pledge and the payments made against it are the same money, so never add them together.
Call `bloomerang-get-refund` for the period and total the refunds per fund through the refunded transaction's designations.
**Step 3: Read what Intacct booked**
For each mapped account, call `intacct-get-general-ledger-detail` with `account-number` set to it, `entry-date.from` / `entry-date.to` set to the period, and `reporting-method` set to Accrual. Rows repeat once per reporting method, so never total without that filter. If Accrual returns nothing, read a few unfiltered rows, see which values `reporting-method` takes, and use the accrual one. Net the rows as credits minus debits.
Call `intacct-get-account` with `account-number` for each account's title, and to confirm it exists.
**Step 4: Report**
A table with one row per fund (or shared account): fund, GL account and title, Bloomerang gifts, Bloomerang refunds, Bloomerang net, Intacct net credits, variance. Show pledges and pledge payments as separate columns and say which of the two Intacct appears to follow; the one that reconciles tells you how the organization books pledges.
For every variance over 1% or 100.00, give the likeliest cause from the evidence: timing (a gift entered or posted in a different period), a gift designated to one fund but booked to another account, a refund not reversed in Intacct, fees netted in Intacct, or Intacct entries with no Bloomerang gift (name them from the GL rows' `memo` and `document-number`).
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* Tools named bloomerang- are on the Bloomerang MCP server; tools named intacct- are on the Sage Intacct MCP server. Both servers must be connected.
* Read only. Do not call `intacct-create-journal-entry`, `intacct-update-journal-entry`, `bloomerang-update-transaction`, `bloomerang-update-fund`, `bloomerang-add-refund` or any other add, create or update tool.
* Pass dates to both servers as YYYY-MM-DD. Omit `company` on Intacct calls unless the user names one.
**Validation:**
* If `intacct-get-account` finds no account for a fund's `general-ledger-class`, report the fund as mismapped. Do not guess which account was meant.
* If neither system shows any activity in the period, say so and stop.
* If a call returns exactly `max-records` rows, the list is truncated: narrow the period and read again.Who it's for
