Find TickTick tasks that no longer match their ServiceNow records
For IT teams who want TickTick tasks checked against the incidents, changes and problems they cite, just by asking their AI assistant.

The problem
Tasks out of step with the tickets they track
TickTick tasks that cite ServiceNow tickets drift out of step with them. A task stays open after its incident closes, or carries a lower priority than the record, and checking each by hand is slow enough that it gets skipped.
Without PopdockAI
- Find the INC, CHG and PRB numbers in each task
- Look each one up in ServiceNow
- Compare state, priority and assignee by eye
- Skip the check when the list gets long
With PopdockAI
- Ticket numbers are pulled from every open task
- Each one is checked in ServiceNow for state, priority and assignee
- Closed records with open tasks are flagged
- Unknown numbers are reported, never guessed, and nothing is changed

**Objective:** Compare open TickTick tasks in project `{project-name}` that cite a ServiceNow incident, change or problem number, with the current state of that record in ServiceNow, and report the mismatches.
**Step 1: Collect the TickTick tasks (TickTick MCP)**
Call `ticktick-get-tasks` with `project-name` set to `{project-name}` and a `max-records` of {max-tasks} (default 100). Keep only tasks that are not completed. In each task title or content, look for ServiceNow numbers: INC followed by digits (incident), CHG (change request), PRB (problem). Ignore tasks that cite none.
**Step 2: Look each record up (ServiceNow MCP)**
For every number found, call the matching tool with `number` set to it: `servicenow-get-incident` for INC, `servicenow-get-change-request` for CHG, `servicenow-get-problem` for PRB. If nothing comes back, mark the task as citing a record that does not exist in ServiceNow and carry on.
**Step 3: Compare**
Flag these mismatches:
* the record is Resolved, Closed or Canceled but the TickTick task is still open
* the record's priority is higher than the TickTick task priority (TickTick: 0 None, 1 Low, 3 Medium, 5 High; ServiceNow: 1 - Critical or 2 - High should be High)
* the record's `assigned-to` is a different person from the task `assignee`
**Step 4: Report**
A table with columns: task title, task id, ServiceNow number, record state, record priority, mismatch. Then a count of tasks checked, tasks with no mismatch, and tasks citing a number that was not found.
**Rules & Guidelines:**
* `ticktick-get-tasks` is on the TickTick MCP server. `servicenow-get-incident`, `servicenow-get-change-request` and `servicenow-get-problem` are on the ServiceNow MCP server.
* This prompt is read-only. Do not call `ticktick-complete-task`, `ticktick-update-task`, `ticktick-delete-task`, `servicenow-update-incident`, `servicenow-update-change-request` or `servicenow-update-problem`.
**Validation:**
* If no open task cites a ServiceNow number, say so and stop.
* If ServiceNow returns more than one record for a number, list them and do not guess.
* ServiceNow state names are matched by text; if a state is unfamiliar, show it as returned.Who it's for
One answer, three teams that use it
IT service desk leads
Clean up tasks for closed tickets
Find open tasks whose incident or change is already resolved, closed or canceled, so the team list reflects live work.
Which tasks in my TickTick IT Ops project reference ServiceNow incidents that are already closed?
IT engineers
Work to the record's priority
Tasks with a lower priority than their ServiceNow record are flagged, so urgent work is not treated as routine.
Check my TickTick tasks against ServiceNow and flag any where the record has a higher priority.
Change managers
Check owners match on changes
Tasks whose assignee differs from the change request are listed, so responsibility is clear.
Compare the CHG numbers in my TickTick Changes project with ServiceNow and show assignee mismatches.
How it works
What PopdockAI does when you ask
You name the TickTick project, and your AI assistant checks every cited ticket in ServiceNow. It only reports, so nothing changes in either system.
01
Ask
You name the TickTick project and, optionally, a limit on tasks.
02
Collect
It reads open tasks and finds the INC, CHG and PRB numbers they cite.
03
Look up
It checks each number in ServiceNow, and reports numbers not found or ambiguous.
04
Report
You get a mismatch table and counts of tasks checked, clean and not found.
